Glan Y Wern

Beat Description:

Salmon and sea trout and brown trout.

The stretch immediately down from the bridge is easy access for the most part to both banks and suitable for all methods for a distance of approximately half a mile or half the beat, thereafter access can be awkward and limited to pools. There is much tree overgrowth on the left bank down so fishing is best accessed from the right. This is fishing for the more adventurous, but can be rewarding. All methods are possible.

How to Get There:

Take the Llandyrnog Road from Denbigh (you can also approach from Bodfari to Llandyrnog or Ruthin to Llandyrnog Roads). Pont Glan-y-Wern is on the Denbigh to Llandyrnog Road (this appears as the Denbigh-Kilford-Waen road on small scale maps).

Parking:

Park in the car park provided on the field to the east of Pont Glan-y-Wern. Remember to display your club sticker in your car window. Take care entering or leaving as traffic can be moving quickly and please shut the gates.
